Package Plans

A Package Plan combines several package components in order to build a package to be sold to a guest.  When a Package Plan is attached to a guest's stay record, the guest only sees the a flat fee for the full package price, but the revenue is disbursed to the Posting Types of the components that make up the package, and reports will show the revenue attached to each component. For example, a package called "Romance" may include $145 for the sleeping room, $50.00 for meals, $30.00 for flowers and $25.00 for champagne, making a total cost for the package of $250.00. This breakdown is visible on generated reports, however the guest will only see $250.00 for the package.  The Package Plan command is used to generate and view the Packages for your Property. Skyware’s Package Plans can be built from the “Top Down” or “Bottom Up”.  The “Top Down” method allows you to set a price and add components to build to that price.  There is a variable component with a price that fluctuates based on the other component prices to maintain the overall package price. “Bottom up” means that the total package price is the sum of all of the component prices. NOTE: If you do not add a total price or have a variable component, the package is the sum of its components.

Note: The Package Plan command is found in the Manager's Commands Screen area, which contains features that are typically used by a Manager, rather than a regular Staff member. You may edit the configuration to suit your Property at any time IF you have the appropriate access/authorization. This attribute may only be customized in Skyware if you have the authorization to do so.

A Package Plan may be attached to the stay at the time of reservation, where the appropriate Package may be selected from those available on the (Quick) Reservation screen, or using the Dates screen or Packages screen in the Reservation Wizard. You may also add (or change) a package associated with the Stay on the Stay Info tab of the folio screen.  Any Package Plan attached to a guest stay, along with the total package price, is visible on this tab. You can also MODIFY the package for that particular stay by clicking on the ellipse (...) icon to the right of the Package field on the tab. See Package on a Stay for more details.

NOTE: Any changes to Package information for a stay through the Package screen using the Stay Info tab applies those changes ONLY FOR THAT STAY. The prices that were created in the configuration set up of the Package Plan will still be the default prices when you subsequently add this Package to another Stay.
